How It All Began!!

Our names are Maria and Laurie.  We came up with the idea of Mango Escapades in the small town of Steamboat Springs, Colorado.  We were couch surfing there for the weekend to run the Steamboat Springs Half-Marathon.  It was our first night on the town and the locals suggested the burrito restaurant called Aztecas to eat.  Laurie and I both ordered the mango habanero salsa.  It was there we had our ah-ha moment. We both love mangoes so we decided our blog had to have mango in it.  Following the burritos we stopped at Ciao Gelato to indulge in some delicious Italian gelato. By the way the hazelnut was to die for!!  We were discussing possible titles for the blog. Adventure kept coming up in our conversation. That's when the good old thesaurus came in handy on the i-phone.  We searched for synonyms and when we saw escapades we both new it was the perfect ending to our blog name!!  The name was settled but the quest for the design of the shirt and the mission was still undecided.  After lots of pondering it came to us that we should acquire a patch from every city we visit to attach on the back of our shirts. This souvenir not only brings memories but informs others where we have traveled on our escapades!!  This blog will detail all our escapades all over the world; whether it be running, biking, hiking, camping, or visiting a new city.  Our mission is to find restaurants that offer some dish with mangoes in it!! So far one city down many more to go!!
