PPRR Winter Series #3 Escapade

Off to Monument we went for the 3rd race in the series.  This time it was  a 10 mile run on the New Santa Fe trail.
Yet again, ignorance was bliss.  We had no idea that we were getting ourselves into running a straight 10 miles in the snow.  The trail was completely covered and left us running in a vary narrow track of slippery ice/snow.
It couldn't stop us though.  We still went out and gave it our best.  It was a beautiful course and beautiful day, just a little bit snowier than we had bargained for.  We were even congratulated by a nice snowman at the finish.

Nice finish and all smiles!
Another check on our life to-do list...ran 10 miles in the snow.  Hmm...I don't think that was actually on the to-do list originally.
Following the race we had to check out what kind of mango experience Monument had to offer.  To our great surprise, there was actually a restaurant with mango on the menu.  This led us to ...
Mozaic is a little artsy restaurant tucked slightly off the road at The Inn at Palmer Divide.  What was on the menu?  A jerk chicken wrap with mango aioli.  We didn't even know exactly what aioli would be, but if it says mango we've got to try it.  And we were glad we did!
The meal began with a roll and garlic butter.  Seems simple, but for 2 ravenous girls who just ran, we couldn't have been more excited to be served that roll.
Here's the mango!  And we chose potato gaufrettes as the side.  Also a great decision!

Gave the crab cakes a try too
Finished it off with the highly recommended creme brulee, complete with chocolate dipped spoons.  Yumm!!!
Overall Mango Escapade rating - quite the hidden gem of the Monument area.  Excellent service and food!
